Course description:

Addition and substitution reactions of carbonyl compounds,electrophilic and nucleophilic aromatic substitutions,radical and concerted reactions, heterocyclic compoundsand polymer chemistry. Spectroscopic methods of analysisincluding nuclear magnetic resonance, infraredspectroscopies and mass spectrometry. Introduction tomulti-step organic synthesis. Open to chemistry majors.
